Gary Parkes has been involved in the music and entertainment business for over 45 years. At the age of 15 he started playing electric organ in local Yorkshire working men's clubs. Then at the age of 16, he joined P&O Cruises flagship, SS Canberra, becoming their youngest contracted pianist onboard. In the 1980's, as the owner of two highly successful music stores dealing in pianos and organs, Gary became the UK's number one retailer for Yamaha. Gary re-joined P&O in 1984 and went on to enjoy another 8 years cruising around the world as Bandleader/Pianist.
In 1990 Gary became involved in the London hotel and live music scene. Subsequently, this led to him establishing his agency, GARY PARKES MUSIC LIMITED, which continues to provide entertainment to the majority of London's five-star hotels and restaurants, including: Claridge's, The Savoy Fairmont Group, The Four Seasons Group, Rosewood Hotels and Harrods, in addition to corporate functions and private events.
The agency also supplies the world's major cruise companies with entertainment ranging from solo pianists to ten-piece bands and classical virtuosi to headline singers from London's West End.
With contacts established over the last three decades and extensive experience as a performer, Gary and his team strive to ensure the right entertainer is provided for the right venue and occasion.
