About Sam...

Born on a little island called Jersey CI, situated in the bay of St Malo; France, Sam’s influences are taken from the laid back vibes of island life. Sam is a singer / composer / pianist and is based in London. At 14, she moved to England and trained in Musical Theatre at The Arts Educational School (Tring). These early years were the most crucial to her musical growth, as she would spend the weekend teaching her-self piano and song writing. Sam soon focused on writing and playing raw and biographical material influenced by musicals such as Rent, Les Miserable and Blood Brothers. Two years later whilst she was at the BRIT school her Influences broadened to the likes of Carol King, Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell and soon her songs were catching the attention of various successful producers and recording companies.

After college Sam traveled for a year and then attended Dartington College of Arts, Devon where she took a BA in Contemporary music. Over the next three years she learnt her craft as a musician and performed extensively with her band ‘The Red Army’, recording two EP’s. Sam also spent three months in Toronto, gigging, collaborating and interviewing various musical artists and industry professionals.

Once leaving university and playing for many years on the acoustic music scene she turned professional. Sam spent the summer of 2007 singing lead in a 7-piece functions band for weddings and corporate events and teaching singing. In October 07 her next contract was with Ocean village cruises, where she sang with track, the resident band and also accompanying herself on the piano. This year she has regularly appeared as resident piano/vocalist for P&O Ferries, Pride of Yorke and Pride of Bruge and is currently playing at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel In London.
