Martin is an experienced solo/cocktail pianist based in London. He has a continually growing and diverse repertoire of romantic ballads, pop and classical standards, film themes and show tunes and exceptional improvisatory skills.

About Martin...

Martin started playing at the age of 6 and came to London at the age of 18 to study at The Royal College of Music achieving both Performers' and Teachers' diplomas in addition to completing an Advanced Study Certificate in Piano Performance (post-graduate year).

After completing full-time education he concentrated his playing on light and pop music genres, expanding his already extensive repertoire of pieces. Recording sessions for numerous European artists/bands followed, including becoming pianist/keyboard player with indie band Shelleyan Orphan from 1986 to 1991 which also included being the main support act for The Cure on their their 1989 Prayer Tour throughout Europe, Canada and the USA.

In addition to his work as a session musician and solo pianist, he enjoys composing short, mainly electronic mood pieces.

He has performed and held residencies at venues such as: The Royal Garden Hotel, The Café Royal, Fortnum & Mason (St. James's Restaurant), The Ivy, The Lanesborough Hotel, The Goring Hotel, The Westbury Hotel, The Cumberland Hotel, The Basil Street Hotel, The San Carlo Restaurant (Highgate) and 1:1 Café / Brasserie King's Road.
