About Joe...

Joe catapulted from a Music degree at the University of Durham to playing some of London's most prestigious venues such as The 606 Jazz Club, The Forge Arts Centre, The Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall and Pizza Express Jazz Club.

Along the way the band has already seen some notable musicians including Brandon Allen ('arguably the most exciting tenor player in Britain today' Tony Hall, Jazzwise), Nathaniel Facey (Parliamentary Award and MOBO Award winner for Best Jazz Act with Empirical), and Jamie McCredie (former BBC Young Guitarist of the Year).

Having been picked up by British publishing giant Splash Point, Joe's songs have taken their place amongst leading jazz artists Liane Carroll, Claire Martin and Ian Shaw.

Equally comfortable when deliberating over the delicate lines of an emotional ballad or improvising fluent bop vocal solos, Joe's style is very much his own.

Client testimonials:

  • TIME OUT
"Soulful, earthy vocal-led jazz from this impressive young singer with a powerful yet subtle voice, Joe also has a knack of penning Stevie Wonder-esque originals that avoid the usual crooner clichés. Helping maintain these lofty standards are superb Empirical altoist Facey and cool guitarist McCredie. Joe's one to watch out for."
  • THE TELEGRAPH
"One of the most interesting jazz vocalists and composers to emerge on the British scene in recent years, Joe can flit between ballads and rapid-fire scatting in the blink of eye."
  • Michael Wilson, JAZZ FM
"One of Britain's finest jazz musicians and singers."
