About Jamie...

Jamie Moore is an extremely versatile musician and composer who moves with ease from the structures of classical music to the freedom of improvisation and from contemporary music to jazz standards.

Born in Canada he currently resides in London and holds dual British and Canadian citizenship. He has a Bachelor Of Music Degree (Composition) from the Berklee College Of Music, Boston (instructors included Gary Burton, Herb Pomeroy, William Leavitt), a Masters Degree (Composition) from the University Of Alberta, Canada and has gone on to further postgraduate studies in Composition at the University Of Nottingham where his instructors included Nigel Osborne, Jim Fulkerson and Judith Weir.

He has worked in five star hotel residencies; clubs; summer seasons; solo concerts in small venues; led big bands in major theatres and concert halls and played for productions in London's West End as well as acting on stage in musicals, television and film. Stage credits include Eddie in Pump Boys and Dinettes (Theatre Royal Plymouth and Tour), Matt Of The Mint in The Threepenny Opera (Innererklang Music Theatre UK Tour); Jesus Christ Superstar; Jaques Brel Is Alive And Well... as well as others.

As a result he has developed a composing and playing style that combines the freedom of jazz and improvisation; the form and structure of a classical music education with the style and presence of a seasoned stage performer.

Major compostions include Concerto For Guitar And Chamber Orchestra; Wonder Woman (A One Act Song Cycle); Sonatina (violin and piano); Suite Canada (large scale work for big band); The Song Of Haiwatha (an oratorio) and many chamber and jazz pieces.
